Dr. Nicole zur Nieden awarded Distinguished Advisor in Environmental Toxicology!!

Following the 2020 virtual ETOX Annual Student Symposium, Dr. zur Nieden was recognized for her great efforts as a faculty advisor and received this year’s Distinguished Advisor Award. We are so thankful for all the hard work Dr. zur Nieden puts into her students’ academic successes!! Here is the nomination that preceded her award:

“Dr. zur Nieden is an amazing advisor. She has perfected the balance of diligent Professor and caring superior. She has allowed me to grow as a scientist both independently and with guidance. Dr. zur Nieden often praises me for otherwise considered "little" successes and she never allows me to feel discouraged in my realm of research. She encourages the study of new methods and commends my efforts in finding alternative techniques that make the lab better as a whole. She has also assisted me in applying for multiple sources of external funding. Dr. zur Nieden is an excellent mentor and she deserves the recognition for such.”
